George and the
chicken...
Tiddly puss
Muriel Gomer and Minnie
I live in Wiltshire next to an ancient apple orchard with my husband and children and three dogs, six cats, geese, chickens, guinea fowl and a selection of ducks
I am inspired by the English landscape, in particular the Wiltshire landscape where I live and work surrounded by hills, woodlands and primeval places, carved white hill horses and ancient rings of standing stones. My inspiration comes from the land, wild and free places, stories and folklore, poetry, myth and legend. I strive to capture the hidden knowledge held within the landscape and spark rememberings that will connect us back to our deepest roots and the hidden memory of this land.
I try to instil this feeling of connection and magic into all of my work. Working with silver which in itself is a magical alchemy, helps underpin my ideas.
In addition to this, I read and collect folklore and collect and write poetry. These words often form the first stirrings of a new idea and are an intrinsic part of my work. On the back of all my jewellery I engrave words or poetry that reflect the magic and feeling that inspired that particular piece.
I have work in collections in the UK, Russia, Italy, France, Germany, Sweden, Australia and the USA.
